Dove Creek by Paula Coomer Patricia Morrison, a woman entering middle age, sits herself down on the banks of the Lostine River in Oregon to try and make sense of her seemingly chaotic past. Daughter of Kentucky hillbillies, survivor of an abusive relationship with a police officer, and former Public Health nurse to the Nez Perce and Coeur d'Alene tribes in Idaho, she reflects with both pride and regret on the parenting of her two young sons and tries to untangle a web of incidents and relationships that have become her life.
