Did you know that GLBT teens have a suicide rate that’s 3-4 times higher than their hetrosexual peers? This week, Dr Kevin talks to Jill Barkley, who is working with Maine Equailty, and Joanna Testa, from PRYSM (Proud Rainbow Youth of Southern Maine) about the effect marriage equality laws have on GLBT youth. How does knowing they have equal rights improve their self image? Do fundamentalist groups that oppose marriage equality consider GLBT youth to be disposable? Also, Dr Kevin offers his perspective on the difference between being a GLBT youth today, and what it was like to be a youth in the GLBT movement 20 years ago.
