Although the majority of people living in homelessness are single adults, our community has been seeing a growing number of families (with children) who are without a home. Some of this may be attributable to the economy, job loss, and difficulty finding employment, but often there are additional issues (such as addiction or domestic violence) that families must resolve before they can reach self-sufficiency. Kimberly Tucker, the Director of Family and Community Services at St. Joseph’s Villa, speaks about families and children experiencing homelessness, and what’s unique about some of the challenges they face.
