FLORIDA JURY AND PROSECUTORS TERMINATE TRAYVON YET AGAIN
An arguably incompetent prosecution of racially-profiling lethal stalker GEORGE ZIMMERMAN led to an acquittal of all charges this weekend by an all-female Florida jury in his fatal shooting of teenaged African-American TRAYVON MARTIN.
Protests erupted overnight in dozens of American cities, expressing the unlikely hope of a federal civil rights prosecution, after the nation's top two law-enforcement officials fumbled the basis of such redress, accepting an incompletely-researched FBI report which declared, on the basis of interviewing holster-sniffer Zimmerman's friends and colleagues, that he evinced "no racial bias" - despite his long history of 911 calls invariably blaming black youths for local burglaries.
Attorney General ERIC HOLDER gives faint praise for a successful federal prosecution at a Howard University "Delta" convention;
Presidential spokesperson JAY CARNEY deflects a question about the disproportionate gunshot killings of black youth, blaming Congress for inaction;
LISA GRAVES, director of the Center for Media and Democracy, analyzes the hidden hand of the reactionary legislative lobby ALEC (which infected 34 states with Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law in great detail, when the Trayvon martin murder was first beginning to gain national attention;

A MEMORIAL FOR TOSHI SEEGER, LATE WIFE OF PETE SEEGER
And finally, we mourn the passage and celebrate the life of TOSHI SEEGER, the late wife of folk legend PETE SEEGER for nearly 70 years. Toshi was a creative manager, founder of the Newport Folk festival and "Clearwater" environmental movement, and, as Pete shared during performance in a recent mayoral forum at NY's Cooper Union hosted by your reporter, that Toshi had written a new set of children's lyrics for his peace anthem "Turn, Turn, Turn."
