This week's program featured a discussion of with Palaouse Environmental Sustainability Commission members, Pat Fuerst, Anne Remaley, and Helen Yost about their participation in the Tar Sands Healing Walk in Alberta, Canada, in July 2013. They discuss the social and environmental costs of the tar sands extraction project, the risks of pipelines and the incongruencies between what they saw and what industry spokespeople told them about reclamation efforts. The show also includes out regular features: headlines, book and movie reviews and the Human Toll.
