Episode 54: DJ Sanchez Soundclash & Sophisticlectic
It has been a long time coming, and this week it finally happened. DJ SANCHEZ came to UNSEEN LEGION RADIO, bringing over 35 years of DJing experience, an amazing wealth of L.A. musical history and much, much more. DJ EARL-E set the tone with a great opening mix before Sanchez got busy. His first set was LATINO SOUNDCLASH, which he also brings out as the resident DJ at M-BAR in Boyle Heights. Cumbias and other classic Latino sounds blended with hip-hop, EDM, soul and even pop tunes, creating an intoxicating mixture with a distinctly Latino sabor - I mean, flavor. MC PROSE gave a great interview after that, digging into his personal history with Sanchez on a political note, discussing activism, L.A. radio and music history and more. YESKI & DOLOW KIDD were also on hand to chip in, along with G DAWG and his homie DK. Sanchez then dropped another set, showcasing his musical versatility and vast range. DJ Earl-E took us into the extended mix and another great show was in the books.
