"Data is a crucial component of how human beings understand the world, and cheap computing combined with an array of sensors raises several important questions, such as how we will use this data, what counts as ethical use, and how can we even process such vast quantities of information" (program). The speakers talk about the application of data analysis to political campaign, urbanology, predictive policing and data science for social good as opposed to facilitating commercial exploitation.
