Doug interviews Stan Raper of UFCW and the Agricultural Workers Alliance, (AWA), about the unfair treatment of migrant farm workers here in southern Ontario and across Canada. Stan will discuss the formation of a new organization.
The new organization is called the Canadian Migrant Workers Rights Coalition (CMWRC) – a national group composed of migrant-worker advocates and community partners and their efforts to get the new government to end the discrimination against migrant workers. Agricultural workers from Mexico and the Caribbean endure long hours, low pay, and long absences from their families.
