Journey Without Maps brings you vintage, rare, and underground global music from uncharted sonic territories. Every week, I unearth a new musical landscape: African soul & funk, Latin rhythms, eastern European electronica, Middle East psychedelic, Asian surf rock … and more.
Journey Without Maps is a production of WERA-LP 96.7 FM and Arlington Independent Media. For archives, updates, and to broadcast the episodes on your station, contact:

Impossible to believe, but it really is that time of the year. It's Christmas again. Every December, a strange spirit pervades across every corner of the globe – an onslaught of strange customs, a subculture of collective memory, both commercial and ancient. Christmas music is a universe all of its own. This episode features the weird and forgotten sounds traditional and not so traditional yuletide songs: UK synthpop, Asian Surf Rock, video game chiptunes, Irish folk-punk, hip hop, baroque pop, indie rock, and calypso.
