Our feature presentation today is our recent conversation with Iyad Burnat. Burnat heads the Popular Committee in Bilâin in the West Bank of Palestine. Bil'in is a village known for its tenacious resistance to occupation and in particular resistance to the building of the apartheid wall that has dissected the villageâs lands. Burnat explains the importance of BDS campaigns, and much more.
Before this, a couple of news items of interest to Palestinians. Responding to the Water Protectors and major public pressure, the Obama administration's Army Corps of Engineers has finally enacted an impediment to constructing the under-river portion of the Standing Rock oil pipeline. Longtime political prisoner Leonard Peltier might finally be released ... or he might not! And finally, the Governor and almost one-third of Massachusetts state legislators have accepted propaganda junkets to Israel while anti-BDS legislation is pending, a classic example of conflict of interest. Needless to say, these officials are not ushered to Palestine to see Israel's not-so-pretty work there!
