The first boat to be seized in this year's Gaza Freedom Flotilla was Al Awda (The Return), challenging the illegal Israeli blockade of Gaza.

Crew member Larry Commodore, a native leader in Canada, was injured in the violent arrest of the boat. Phil interviews Karen DeVito, wife of the captain of the Freedom. She says, "we sailed for freedom for the people of Gaza, for freedom for people everywhere."

DeVito, an experienced activist and writer, discusses with Phil her difficulty in publishing a book that included a chapter about the Nakba. She also comments on Israeli Yonatan Shapira, former captain and helicopter pilot in the Israeli army, and the "Boycott From Within."
