Chris Youett is a Coventry-based freelance technology journalist with a wealth of experience and knowledge on industrial and social justice issues. A onetime contender for General Secretary of the National Union of Journalists he's here asked why the Allied operation to liberate Holland in September 1944, Operation Market Garden failed and goes on to explain some of the history of Britain's tempestuous relationship with first the EEC and then the EU. Recounting that Roy Jenkins and Shirley Williams promised faithfully during the referendum campaign in 1975 that the EEC would never be extended to become a political and monetary union that it has today.

Richard House is a campaigner and activist in Stroud, Gloucestershire for social justice but with a particular interest in primary education. He supports the Labour party under Jeremy Corbyn who, he believes, has returned the party to its socialist roots after the 'Blair years' when it was taken over by a neoconservative faction. Richard was also involved in preventing the privatisation of Stroud's Subscription Rooms, or Sub Rooms in the town centre which has been a centre of the council and community activity for nearly two hundred years.
