This morning we feature the youngest certified, fully credentialed, journalist in the world. She is 13 years old. A Palestinian, she lives in Nabeh Saleh on the West Bank, one of the hottest spots in occupied Palestine. Her name is Jenna Jihad.
Jenna started writing when she was 7 years old because she felt that the occupation of her village was not being adequately covered by the media. She spoke at the Palestine Center in Washington DC, one of the stops on her speaking tour of the US.
Israeli journalist and author Miko Peled ("The General's Son") describes her beautiful community. There are no guns, nonetheless it's continuously oppressed and attacked by Israeli soldiers and settlers.
Miko and Jenna are introduced by Mohamed Mohamed, Executive Director of the Jerusalem Fund and Palestine Center.
Begun in 2004, This Week In Palestine (a weekly 8am feature of Truth and Justice Radio (TJR) is an award-winning 45-minute (or more) segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland.
