Aleppo is celebrating the removal of terrorists who, for years, have shelled and mortared civilians indiscriminately. Phil plays an audio clip of these celebrations, and chronicles the recent effort to dismantle the last terrorist strongholds in Syria. Syria's effort to free itself from an invasion by the U.S., Turkey, Israel, and the Gulf states is truly momentous. Syria has distinguished itself as one of the more resourceful Arab socialist groupings, and has strong ties with the Resistance Axis.
It's not likely that the world will fall for 'humanitarian intervention' scams as frequently now that the U.S. clearly abused such policies in Libya, and has failed in Syria. Support for U.S. interventionism has divided the world into client states in contrast to those who value independence.
Phil Taylor and Phil Conlon also discuss the importance of avoiding fearmongering and racism with regard to 'reporting' on China. Every story in the New York Times about China concerns alleged 'failures' in China's containment of the Coronavirus, despite China's massive efforts to prevent its spread. What China needs is solidarity.
The hosts also bring up the problems with Bernie Sanders' foreign policy. Although Sanders is bringing an important dialog about social programs in the U.S., he has also shown a willingness to continue the policies of the empire.
