Art matters whether or not you become a professional artist. The perceptions cultivated in the process of engaging in art, as audience or practitioner, open up depths of insight and synthesis that cannot be accessed any other way. All of life's parts are potential works of art, if one has the perception to see them. Conceptual artist C.C. Elian, creator of the cult writing system, Elian script, and promoter of art as a priceless education is interviewed by New York art critic Julia Morton.

This interview is an entertaining art work in itself and a convincing presentation of why art education and venues should be funded as a long term investment in the full potential and well being of any community.
