This week in THE Q we give a nod to the late Robin Williams as we delve into the Bobcat Goldthwait directed WORLDâS GREATEST DAD. Considered by many to be one of Williams more interesting perfomances it tells the story of father Lance Clayton, a man that learns the things you want most may not be the things that make you happy, and that being lonely is not necessarily the same as being alone⦠Lance Clayton (Robin Williams) is a man who has learned to settle. Heâs dreamed of being a rich and famous writer, but has only managed to make it as a high school poetry teacher. His only son Kyle, (who wonât give him the time of day) is an insufferable jackass, with virtually zero friends, who seems to only care about violent video games and internet porn. One bright spot for Lance is Claire, the schoolâs adorable art teacher, with whom he has a blossoming relationship, but she doesnât want to get serious â or even acknowledge publicly that they are dating.
