Samira Rahmani, CKUT Radio
An interview with Dolores Chew, member of the South Asian Womens' Community Centre in Montreal, Canada. A recent inquiry into the 2002 train fire in Gujarat has found that it was caused accidentally by mechanical failure. This contradicts much of the rhetoric and propaganda which followed the incident and led to weeks of rioting and savage killings targetted mostly at the minority Muslim population. Chew speaks of what led up to the attacks, media coverage surrounding the issue and the need to keep focussed on issues of sectarian violence in the Indian subcontinent.
