I'm guest-hosting WRIR's Cause and Effect Show today. It is one of my favorites to host and to listen to. Each week's host selects an artist than digs deep into the bands and artists that influenced the featured performer and in turns the bands and artists they influenced. Stream the show every Saturday from 1 PM to 3 PM @ www.wrir.org.
Hey Listeners,

Haberdasher here with Todd Ranson the host of WDCE’s Loblolly Pine Show. We’re excited to do a Mardi Gras-themed Cause and Effect today. Fat Tuesday is next week which makes today’s topic perfect. Todd and I will be taking a look at the influences of Mardi Gras Indians on New Orleans culture, music, and the Mardi Gras season in general. Specifically, we will be delving into The Wild Tchoupitoulas self-titled 1976 recording and discussing the roots of that record being made and the long-term impact that recording had on New Orleans – it’s music, tourism, and culture.
