In this broadcast, an interview with Richard Gillis, Artistic Director and conductor of the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, trumpeter, and flugelhorn player. The orchestras new release is Voices " A Musical Heritage (WJO). The album is a collection of commissions from eight jazz composers intended to reflect some of Manitobas musical heritage: First Nations, Metis, Ukrainian, Jewish, Chilean, Brazilian, Nigerian, and Icelandic. Plus, a selection from bassist Carlo Mombellis Clap Your Hands and drummer Peter Erskines Grammy-nominated release Live in Italy.
