When Ann Hood lost her five year old daughter to meningitis, her grief was so great, she was unable to write for two years. Knitting helped her begin her life anew and find her way back to words. She's written a terrific novel drawing on her experience: THE KNITTING CIRCLE. She talks with us about grief and how friends, time and knitting can help one heal from loss. Also, more than 3500 activists came together in Memphis, Tennessee in January at the Media Reform Conference organized by Free Press, an advocacy group headquarted in Northampton, Massachusetts. Free Press communication director Craig Aaron talks about the forces threatening a free media and the fightback to protect it.
