Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Speaking recently, Mejia recounts his role in the U.S. torture program, and his treatment after he turned against it. Both of these segments were aired on Truth and Justice Radio (WZBC, Newton) on 10-28-07.
We thank Matt Shear and WayCam (Wayland MA) for capturing the UU Church talk. Our own sound manager, FreemanZ (his website: 492cafe.org), recorded and prepared the RESIST segment. Posting is by Stan Robinson and the staff of "Truth and Justice Radio," broadcast Sundays 6-10am on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA); webstreams at <wzbc.org>; the programs website is <truthandjusticeradio.org>, which links to playlists, which in turn link to archival audio.
In the first segment, Camilo speaks to assembled community members at First Parish UU Church in Wayland, MA; in the second, he speaks to activists gathered at the 40th anniversary of RESIST in Cambridge, MA. The two audiences are distinguishable by their level of understanding, sophistication, and commitment to the cause of justice. In both segments Camilo provides thorough descriptions of the torture techniques he was required to practice. Camilo was the first refuser (and he served jail time for this); today there are 10 to 20 thousand refusers.
