Entergy wants to spin off ownership of Vermont Yankee, leaving the parent corporation without liability for the nuclear power plant. Vermont's Department of Public Service first opposed the move, but now they have agreed to it.
Thomas Weiss has reviewed the laws and thinks the Department has exceeded its authority, and that it's not protecting the interests of Vermonters it's required to protect. Don Kreis of Vermont Law School wonders how the spinoff can be in the interest of Vermonters.
