Summary: Erica Butler of CKDU News speaks with Shahin Sayadi, the creator and director of Return Ticket: Halifax - Abadan - Halifax. Sayadi touches on the genesis for the play, which is a look at war from the citizen's perspective. Sayadi travelled to his hometown of Abadan, Iran, near the Iran-Iraq border in 2008. The play is based on his experience reconnecting with the people and memories from his youth, including the outbreak of the Iran-Iraq war.
