TV is the most efficient medium for globalization. The landscape of the mind is shaped to accept the external monolculture of corporate logos, fast food franchises and clear-cuts.

TV is the most efficient medium for globalization, says Jerry Mander. 99 1/2% of homes have a TV. 95% of the population watches TV every day. The average home keeps the TV running for more than 8 hours a day - even if nobody is watching. TV is the original virtual reality. People are sitting night after night in dark rooms, images flowing into their minds, sent out by a tiny number of giant corporations.

Sarah Anderson says that e-commerce, aggressively promoted by the US government, might make up 25% of international trade by the year 2003. Jobs, the environment and the ability of governments to govern will all be undermined.
