With the tough on crime agenda in full swing in Canada, billions of dollars are being spent across the country on prison building. But the Tories are being eerily tight lipped about their specifics plans.

Is Canada becoming the next prison nation?
Even in this economic crisis, governments (provincial and federal) are managing to find billions of dollars to build new prisons.
Provincial governments across the country are spending $3 billion dollars. The federal government? We don't know, as they aren't telling us, what their plans are.
But Justin Piche has been trying to find out. Justin is a Phd student who is studying prison expansion in Canada. He has also started up a campaign calling for a Canadian Punishment Legislation Moratorium Campaign.
Stark Raven recently spoke with Justin about prison expansion and his quest to find out what the federal government and the Correctional Service of Canada are up to.
