Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

Avotcja is a poet/multi-instrumentalist/educator who is a Bay Area icon. She is of Taino Indian Caribbean and African descent, born in New York City and published in more anthologies than she can remember. With her band, Modupue, she combines music and poetry so seamlessly, we wonder why it was ever separated. She is a radio host for both KPFA in Berkeley and KPOO in San Francisco, where she focuses on music and poetry. Avotcja has performed with Rashaan Roland Kirk, Bobi and Luis Cespedes, Diane diPrima, Michael Franti just to name a few.
