Your support is essential if the service is to continue, there are bandwidth bills to pay every month and failing disk drives to replace. Volunteers do the work, but disk drives and bandwidth are not free. We encourage you to contribute financially, even a dollar helps. Click here to donate.

Trash Collection and Solid Waste
Weekly Program
Sharon North, Public Information Manager for the City of Richmond's Department of Public Works
 Elaine Summerfield  Contact Contributor
The Department of Public Works coordinates recycling, trash collection, storm recovery, and municipal maintenance and infrastructure. You may not think about snowplowing, graffiti, leaf collection, street sweeping, restoring electrical power, and recycling that old microwave -- until a problem presents itself! Fortunately, Richmond's Department of Public Works has dedicated staff and work crews who plan for and manage these municipal issues, keeping Richmond safe, clean, and productive. The Department steps up in the event of an emergency, of course, but they also strive to improve the quality and effectiveness of their services on a regular basis. The Department is streamlining the trash collection schedule; said changes begin the week of July 9, 2012. Inspire Indeed 'talks trash' with Sharon North, Public Information Manager for the Department of Public Works. For more information, visit
