AP is calling the monitoring network - created by the Justice Department itself - unprecedented in size and scope, and a gross violation of privacy. One consequence of this surveillance scandal is that whistleblowers will now think twice, before calling a news desk - thats according to investigative journalist and historian, Tony Gosling. Democracy Now! Interview with Chris Hedges
It is striking how self-pitying conservative comments are compared to how self-denying most liberal comments were. As I point out in the podcast, both intrusions were horrible, however the conservative investigations prove the state is turning from suppressing radicals â because most are thoroughly compromised, harassed or lack the power structure to be a force against them â to tightening its iron-fingers around the hapless conservatives who, for the past century or so, have enabled corporate-government forces to annihilate radical populous movements seeking genuine equality and comradeship. These individuals, made fat by government largess â pardon me, Acts and land grants, lets just call it well-fare for they fared-well when they were receiving it; thought â as did the liberal class â that the government would always keep its sights on radicals, ni**ers, sp**ks and reds (both natives and political); they were assured by their ethnicity that âtheir governmentâ would protect âtheir landâ; alas this has proven to be false. The Government is, as itâs always been, there to govern. It is meant to govern citizens not the other way around, its charter is not the Constitution of the United States but the charter of the Virginia Colonies which made all non-official residents (those appointed by the crown) non-citizens with very few rights or privileges. American history looks over this point when describing the founding of the nation. America emerged from corporate colonialism to become a corporate state; now over 230 years later, those who most benefited from that emergence and the subsequent booming years â conservatives and liberals â are seeing how life in Antebellum America is.
Later this summer, around August or September, I would like to expand Class War Battlefield to include 10 to 20, 3-5 minute audio article/ commentary segments where readers/ writers independently record articles or commentaries written personally or by other persons. The segments can be poetic, musical, theatrical or spoken word, so long as they have a conscious-humanitarian, informative message to them. If you would like to contribute conscious music to the show I will likely include it independent of the 10-20 segments or if youâd like to provide a theatrical performance I would be open to expanding the time limit. Contact me if youâd like to partake in such an endeavor. Thank you. Vphiamer Adis classwarbattlefield@live.com
