David Axelrod, key Obama strategist and Democratic Party insider, of the Institute of Politics offers a few comments ahead of the introduction given by a student at the Institute. The Institute of Politics at UChicago invited Brennan to speak last October ahead of the Presidential election. That talk was postponed for unstated reasons but took place on January 5th, 2017, the day before Director Brennan was to meet and brief the surprise victor of that election, Donald Trump.

CIA Director Brennan claimed he had proof that the Russian government interfered with the Presidential election by hacking and releasing emails from the DNC and the Clinton campaign.
Trump had tweeted dismissively of the claim, reminding all of how wrong the CIA was on its intelligence regarding Iraq weapons of mass destruction.

The National Security State, which supports Clinton and hostilities toward Russia, appears intent in undermining legitimacy of Trumps win in as much as Trump has
made statements that threaten its establishment primacy
and the profits that flow due to perpetual war.

No questions were asked of Director Brennan about his role in promoting the use of torture or his lying to the Senate committee investigating CIA torture of prisoners or about his spying on its members to foil their investigation. Brennan also promoted extra judicial killing of people with drone delivered Hellfire missiles if they were designated as terrorists or happened to be next to someone so designated. American citizens and children are not spared in what he argues is a legal, moral, and effective program.

"If the Obama administration intentionally killed family members of suspected terrorists in drone attacks, that constitutes murder, not just a killing, and is a war crime.

This brings up the most prominent example of family members killed in U.S. drone strikes: that of the al-Awlakis.

On Oct. 14, 2011, a U.S. drone strike killed 16-year-old U.S. citizen Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, along with his teenage cousin and at least five more civilians, blowing them up as they ate dinner at an outdoor restaurant in Yemen."
