Christine Jones is an internationally renowned and highly respected ground-cover and soils ecologist. She has a wealth of experience working with landholders to enhance biodiversity, increase biological activity, sequester carbon, activate soil nutrient cycles, restore water balance, improve productivity and create new topsoil. She is passionate about reversing the decline of nutrients in food that is grown on the worldâs depleted soils.
Jones has organized and participated in workshops and conferences throughout Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Canada, Central America, and the USA and has a strong publication and presentation record. She is a member of Arizona State Universityâs âCarbon Nation Teamâ and sits on the advisory board of âThe Carbon Undergroundâ. The non-profit Fibershed held a workshop with Christine Jones and gave permission to TUC Radio to broadcast from their recordings.
Fibershed is based in San Geronimo in West Marin, California. They grew out of the cooperation of fiber producers, mainly sheep ranchers and those who are collecting and growing plants for natural dyes with those who spin and weave textiles.
Thanks for the audio to John Parulis who recorded the workshop with Dr. Christine Jones on June 20, 2019.
