Speakers at the rally across from Chicago City Hall where the first in person council meeting since the start of the pandemic would take place that morning . The demand is for the Empowering Communities for Public Safety Ordinance to be moved from the "Public Safety" Committee into the council for a vote.

Adam Toledos is the13 year old boy who was recently shot and killed as he stood with his hands in the air by a Chicago cop.

Anjanette Young is the black social worker whose apartment was broken into by Chicago police as she stood nude getting ready for bed. Police forced her to stand naked, handcuffed for 40 minutes while they looked for drugs, as she repeatedly told them they had the wrong apartment.

The ECPS Ordinance would end the impunity with which these police outrages occur.

Gus Newport, former mayor of Berkley,Ca speaks about the reforms to policing he accomplished in the 70's, Danny Glover speaks of the continuing fight for justice and the importance of
the activists now engaged in the historic campaign in Chicago; one being watched across the country and around the world.

Gerald Reed, whose life sentence was recently commuted by
Governor Pritzker, his conviction being based on a tortured confession, speaks of his commitment to help those prisoners, his family for 30 years, that he left behind and the importance of the ECPS ordinance to protect children from what was done to him at the hands of a corrupt police and judicial system.
