Sherif Fam and his guest, renowned Palestinian journalist Mr. Daoud Kuttab, pioneer of independent, censor-free journalism who long fought for a free media under both the Israeli occupation and the Palestinian Authority.
This is a weekly half-hour segment of news from Palestine, and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland.
Sherif Fam (associate producer) with the all-volunteer staff of "Truth and Justice Radio," broadcast nearly every Sunday 6-10am on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA); webstream is at <wzbc.org>; the programs own website is <truthandjusticeradio.org>.
Mr. Kuttab is the former President of the Palestinian Audio-Visual Union and has founded the Arabic Media Internet Network, or Amin, to provide censorship-free Arabic-language news to media organizations in the Middle East and to "encourage constructive and thoughtful debate on issues of concern to the Palestinian public and the international community." The website is a collection of online newspapers and articles in Arabic.
In 1996, the Committee to Protect Journalists awarded Mr. Kuttab the International Press Freedom Award for his "creative and untiring support of press freedom and free expression [which] has played a crucial role in the development of a nascent, independent Palestinian media and has contributed to an expansion of these freedoms elsewhere in the Middle East."
