This is a weekly 45-minute segment of news from Palestine, and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland.
Sherif Fam (associate producer), Stan Robinson(co-producer), and the staff of "Truth and Justice Radio," aired Sundays 6-10am on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming at <wzbc.org>. The programs own website is <truthandjusticeradio.org>. It links to our playlists, which link in turn to archived audio.
Today, on the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the Nakba, we have the privilege of welcoming Dr. Mazin Qumsiyeh as our featured guest to discuss the Nakba, and what it means to Palestinians. Dr. Qumsiyeh is a Palestinian-American former Professor of Genetics at the Yale University School of Medicine, long-time activist and author, most famously known for his widely acclaimed book: "Sharing the Land of Canaan: Human Rights and the Israeli-Palestinian Struggle," published by the Pluto Press in 2004. We highly recommend that book as a must-read to anyone who is interested in knowing something about what the current conflict is about. Dr. Qumsiyeh is also the founder and former President of the Holy Land Conservation Foundation, and cofounder of Al-Awda, the Palestine Right to Return Coalition, and AcademicsForJustice.org. He travels and lectures widely across the country with the Wheels of Justice, an organization which advocates for non-violent education and action against war and occupation in Iraq and Palestine, and for justice and human rights. Dr. Qumsiyeh is also in the process of writing a new book.
