Dr Maricel Maffini is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Anatomy and Cellular Biology at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston.

Her research interests are in the field of carcinogenesis and developmental biology, and she has made a number of important observations in the field of breast cancer.

In this interview with Helen Caldicott, Dr Maffini explains the association between exposures to environmental estrogen-mimics during fetal life (like bisphenol A, a component in plastic) and breast cancer risk in adulthood.
