Utah Phillips died on May 23, 2008 in Nevada City. His passing generated news stories from across the country. You can see why he is remembered with such admiration and love.
In this 2004 program Utah Phillips talked about the events that shaped his life. He said that he never told his story as completely as this. He spoke from the heart with humor, deep conviction and wisdom.  From his childhood to his military service in Korea, his work with transients and migrants, his discovery of anarchism and pacifism and how to use music as a weapon, this is a moving, honest account of an extraordinary life.
