Irina Bondarul is a Lithuanian single mum living in Bristol who helps organise something called the Free Shop at the Arc Bar in Broad Street, Bristol City Centre. Along with her 18 month old son Margis she explains what a free shop is, a charity shop where nobody has to pay for anything. As society begins to find money tighter and tighter people are starting to realise that we dont need money to live. Just water, food and shelter, as well as some free books and clothes from the free shop of course. This week Elia takes us on a musical tour of her home country, Catalonia. Well, some say it is part of Spain but like the Basque country people the majority of Catalonians would like to secede from Spain but are not being allowed a referendum. The Spanish king, who changes this week from Juan-Carlos to Philipe by the way, and the Madrid establishment say that because Spaniards voted for the present constitution in the 1978 that they are not allowed to change it. Anyway it is a beautiful part of Spain and of all its lovely cities Elia recommends you catch a plane to Girona to enjoy her favourite Costa Brava. http://www.roughguides.com/destinations/europe/spain/catalunya/the-costa-brava/
