Omar Barghouti, leader and spokesman for the international campaign for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions ("BDS"), spoke at the recent Tree of Life Conference 11-1-2014 in Cambridge, MA.
How is the BDS campaign doing? Barghouti recounts some impressive results, particularly with governments of various countries. For example, Veolia has recent lost some billion-dollar contracts, including one in Massachusetts. Veolia serves as "manager" of waste processing for Israeli settlements, depositing its output guess where. We need to take heart from BDS successes, and join the effort if we haven't already.
Listen hard, the recording quality is poor despite our attempts to bolster its clarity. We hope to find a better recording, and if so, we'll post it here.

Our host continues with his own report on BDS efforts against Israel-tainted companies doing business in Massachusetts.
For those seeking information on what retail products to boycott, go to bdslist.org, but note that the list is incomplete. Also note the following about hummus: As bdslist.org reports, Sabra hummus (along with Tribe) is a target of BDS. However, a small Lebanese company in Norwood, Massachusetts makes its own excellent hummus, which carries a green Sabra label. Our advice: green label Sabra is good; boycott Sabra with the red label!
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them.
It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; earlier editions are obtainable from radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing a lot of Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjr@bluebottle.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
