Dec. 19, 2016, 6:17 p.m.
As Syrian forces liberate Aleppo, the beleaguered residents of East Aleppo are being given the chance to tell their story. No longer hostages of Al Qaeda, Aleppo's civilians are running into the arms of the Syrian government, and the aid and hospitals that the 'rebels' have denied them all these years.

Vanessa Beeley explains how the narrative of 'popular humanitarian' rebels is melting away in Aleppo, as the last White Helmets flee in buses together with the last Al Qaeda.
