Our feature presentation today is an interview of Journalist and author Max Blumenthal conducted on Telesur by Abby Martin. Like many of our broadcasts, we found this on YouTube, and like most of Blumenthal’s presentations, it is loaded with personal observations and analysis from the ground, from Israel, and the West Bank and in this case also Gaza where he was during the last Israeli bombardment of that region in 2014.

If you watch this interview on YouTube, you'll witness video outtakes of Israel’s subjugation of the Palestinian people. The video ends showing an Israeli military tank rolling into the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem. Over a loudspeaker system an Israeli soldier shouts the following, which is translated from the Arabic: “People of Aida Camp. We are the occupational army. You throw stones and we will hit you with gas until you die, the children, the youth, the old people. You will die. We won’t leave any of you alive. We have arrested one of you, he is with us now, we took him from his home, and we will slaughter and kill him while you watch, if you keep throwing stones. Go home or we will gas you until you die. Your children, your families, everyone. We will kill you. Listen to me, all of you go home. It’s better for you.” The video ends with the sound of a rifle shot.

Before that, We begin with a portion of an interview with Electronic Intifada founder Ali Abunimah, conducted on Al Jazeera English last December 26. Abunimah responds to the UN Security Council’s resolution condemning the continuing Illegal development of settlements on occupied Palestinian land. You will remember that the United States unexpectedly abstained on the vote, much to the consternation of Netanyahu.

And afterward, in light of all of the hideous wrongs that Donald Trump's thugs are cooking up, we comment, and quote an article by Palestinian journalist Nadia Elia, on resisters' growing awareness of intersectionality.
This Week In Palestine (a weekly part of Truth and Justice Radio) is an award-winning three-quarter-hour segment of news from Palestine and discussion of issues relevant to the Palestinians' struggle for freedom from Israel's brutal military occupation and colonization of their homeland. It speaks from the point of view of Palestinians and those who care about them. It's a regular part of Truth and Justice Radio, aired Sundays 6-10am ET on WZBC 90.3FM, Newton, MA, streaming live and archived for two weeks at wzbc.org; TJR's website, truthandjusticeradio.org, has a link to This Week In Palestine archives back thru 1-6-2008; editions are also accessible at radio4all.net or by navigating through our playlists. (At this important time, TJR has been airing Palestine coverage IN ADDITION to that provided by This Week In Palestine.) We hope you'll write to us at tjradio@fastmail.com if you rebroadcast our work, or have questions or comments.
