This week, on the season finale episode of the GLOBAL RESEARCH NEWS HOUR, we are taking a look at the most recent alarming developments in the saga of the Ukraine war and reviewing the developments in war 80 years ago for any lessons to be learned to help stave off nuclear disaster. In our first half hour, we speak to independent military and geopolitical analyst Drago Bosnic about the deadly attacks on Russia over the weekend and the notion that NATO powers are leveraging more and more indications it is planning on having boots on the ground by the end of the summer. Police panic our lemming Parliament, witch-hunts beginning.
June 26, 2024, 4:54 p.m.
Part of the end commentary from this week's Taylor Report program:
Unnamed police sources panic our lemming Parliament, and move us deeper into full-blown witch-hunt.
Led by unnamed sources with unknown motivation (supposedly in the RCMP/CSIS/Five Eyes camp) members of the Canadian parliament are falling over themselves in the search for "foreign influencers" and "traitors" demanding that anyone under suspicion be named/shamed publicly to "protect our democracy". Why no passion to name the accusers?
Why no demand for fair process? No, howling McCarthyism is the order of the day. This is after the same Parliament that rose to its feet en masse to applaud an actual Nazi when the Speaker of Parliament introduced him as one who had "fought against Russia" in World War Two.
Meanwhile, a court has pointed out that a media company company that smeared MP Han Dong (causing him harm and damaging "our democracy"), failed to provide any evidence to back their "reporting."

Leonard Peltier - Prayer Vigil for his Parole in San Francisco
June 26, 2024, 2:08 a.m.
For the first time in 15 years, Leonard Peltier had a full parole hearing on Monday, June 10, at the United States Penitentiary at Coleman, Fla. The decision whether he will be free will be rendered by mid July 2024.
Peltier is Turtle Mountain Ojibwe. He has been incarcerated for 48 years for the alleged killing of two FBI agents at Oglala on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in June 1975. For five decades, Peltier has maintained his innocence and hoped for the chance to clear his name.
Peltier had a controversial trial marred by falsified testimony, and fabricated evidence. And criticism of the trial even came from judges involved in the case. And in 2017, former U.S. Attorney James Reynolds wrote a letter to President Obama to support clemency for Peltier. Reynolds was the federal prosecutor involved in the legal proceedings against Peltier.
Tony Gonzales was one of the organizers of the prayer vigil for Leonard Peltier held in San Francisco on June 10. He founded AIM West - the American Indian Movement West, in 2007. In 1982 Tony Gonzales begun working with the International Indian Treaty Council, the first Indigenous NGO in the United Nations, and eventually became the UN Liaison.

June 25, 2024, 9:40 p.m.
Gallup poll data show that for the past forty years, majorities of Americans consistently perceive crime to be worse “this year” than the previous year, irrespective of the tremendous downward plunge in both property and violent crime during that same period. This week on Sea Change Radio, the second part of our discussion with former San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin. In this episode, we examine why “tough on crime” legislation can have such deleterious outcomes, talk about the problems with recall elections, and look at the work Boudin has embarked on at the UC Berkeley School of Law. Then, we dig into the Sea Change Radio archives to revisit a portion of our previous conversation with Kevin Ortiz, a San Franciscan who learned firsthand how hard it can be to extricate oneself from legal entanglements.
