The Monday, July 2, Climate Justice Forum radio program hosted by Wild Idaho Rising Tide (WIRT, http://wildidahorisingtide.org/) features WIRT activist Zach Johnson, arrested by Moscow and Idaho State Police for riding his bicycle a few feet into Main Street on October 6 during the Bikes Not Bitumen critical mass anti-megaload protest. We discuss his experiences during eight months of Moscow demonstrations and subsequent legal proceedings as well as the recent Moscow City Council decision to authorize expenditures of megaload hauler Mammoet’s reimbursements for Moscow police officer overtime on riot gear. Listen to KRFP Radio Free Moscow (http://radiofreemoscow.org/) live at 92.5 FM or online every Monday between 7:30 and 9:30 pm PDT for regional and continent-wide climate activism news.
Helen Yost of Wild Idaho Rising Tide offers news and conversations with climate change activists and scientists about corporate dirty energy projects and citizen resistance, interspersed with protest songs and descriptions of grassroots direct actions and community initiatives.
