Thomas Mountain has recently attended a conference of Eritreans in Germany, highlighting the fact that in countries around the world patriotic Eritreans express support for their home country and interact with representatives of the government, much to the chagrin of Washington and Addis Ababa who scheme against the Eritrean state. In June Ethiopia sent troops into Eritrea but they were beaten off. At the UN western powers concocted a âhuman rightsâ motion against Eritrea that was so full of holes and drew such ridicule that it failed at the UNSC. Mountain emphasizes that Eritrea, while poor, delivers on the basic needs of its people, while staying out of the clutches of imperialism.
