With the twenty second annual UN CLimate Change Conference (COP22) coming to a close as of November 18th, the Global Research News Hour is taking the opportunity to examine the current state of the climate, and the (non) solutions being proposed under the current international framework.
The bulk of the program features a conversation among host Michael Welch, investigative journalist Cory Morningstar, and evolutionary biologist Guy McPherson. Morningstar draws from her research into what she calls the non-profit industrial complex to conclude that climate action from political and activist bodies are more geared toward maintaining business as usual than meaningfully mitigating climate chaos.
Professor Guy Mcpherson elaborates on his major theme of runaway global Warming resulting in the near term extinction of the human species, and the reluctance of academic and other authorities, including the IPCC to process and acknowledge the futility of combatting the predicament.
Finishing off the program, award-winning investigative journalist and author Dahr Jamail returns to the show to spell out the major indicators of Abrupt Climate Disruption and responsible approaches to the Climate dillemma in the face of the incoming Trump administration.
Interviews By Michael Welch
